Ahwatukee is the southernmost urban village and is 35.8 square miles around with a population of around 77,000 as of 2010. It is bordered by South Mountain Park and Guadalupe Road as well as the cities of Chandler, Tempe, and Guadalupe as well as the Gila River Indian Community.
Ahwatukee was annexed by Phoenix from 1982 to 1987 before strong residential growth took place.
